This tool, with its interactive display, encourages exploration and fast
communication. The Friend Mapper's intuitive interface helps you find Krawler
users through their relationship with you and your peers.
You can open the Friend Mapper either by clicking on the Friend Mapper
hyper link in the Go to options panel on Krawler Home, or by clicking on the
Friend Mapper button at the bottom of the My Friends tab in the Navigation
Pane.
About Friend Mapper:
- Each person is represented by a node depicting his image.
- It starts with displaying you in the center. You are surrounded
by your immediate friends, connected to them by straight dark lines.
- If you have sent a friend request that hasn't been accepted yet,
there is a light gray straight line connecting you to that node. You
can revoke the friend request by right clicking the line and selecting
"Cancel Request".
- If there are Krawler users who have sent you a friend request,
there is a dotted straight line connecting you to each one of them.
You can accept/reject the request by right clicking the line and
selecting Accept / Reject request.
- Double-Click on any of your friends. Instantly, that friend's friends
will appear, connected to him by lines.
- You can hide a particular peer by right clicking his icon and
selecting "Hide node". The node will disappear along with the links
connecting it to other nodes (if any).
- You can add a peer as a friend using Friend Mapper. Click your icon
and drag the pointer to the person (depicted by an icon with his image)
you want to befriend. Then release the pointer. A message box will
appear asking you to confirm whether you want to add the peer as a
friend or not. Clicking "Yes" will send him a friend request and he
will be added to your list of friends after he approves the request.
Clicking "No" will cancel the operation.
- You can view the profile of any peer by right clicking his icon and
clicking "View Profile". The profile will open in a separate tab in
the main Krawler window.
- In the upper right corner of a node, a number will be displayed which
will determine how many of his friends have not been displayed yet.
Finding the Shortest Path: Right-click the user's icon and select Shortest
Path. The path(s) will be displayed by thick yellow lines connecting you
to the selected user.
